Driver’s exams return to Long Prairie and Wadena

If you have needed to take your written/verbal or behind-the-wheel driver’s exam in the past couple of years, you may have not only had difficulty finding an exam location open near you, but you also would have undoubtedly had a long wait time before you could get in to get your testing done.

But—great news—the rest of the exam stations throughout Minnesota should all be open now.


The Department of Public Safety-Department of Vehicle Services (DPS-DVS)—like everything else—was under a near-complete lockdown since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a November 9, 2021 news release from the DPS-DVS, the plan for reopening the remaining closed locations which included Long Prairie and Wadena was underway. . .
