Fall or winter? First snowfall hits the area


Fall colored leaves were covered in snow over the weekend.

The first snow of the season started falling around the area during the late afternoon and early evening hours of Friday, October 11, and continued through the morning hours of Sunday, October 13. A portion of Todd and Wadena counties received approximately 1-4 inches of snow. The temperatures rose on Monday and the snow began to melt. North Dakota was hit with the brunt of the storm. They received over two feet of snow in some areas along with blizzard conditions.
