Farmer’s market comes to Hilltop

by Trinity Gruenberg

A local farmer’s market has started in Eagle Bend, just outside of the Hilltop Regional Kitchen.

The idea began about a year ago as people would stop by the kitchen to pick up produce from Leila Oliver, who works customer service for the Meals To Go program, and her daughter Amy Claseman, who is the regional manager for the kitchen.

Both grow huge gardens and would sell produce online.

“We grew up gardening. We don’t know anything different,” explained Oliver.

She added that this year has been extremely busy for her and her husband as they have pulled about 2000 heads of garlic this year, and 55 pounds of green beans on one day. . .
