The Eagle Valley School Board held a special meeting Thursday evening, June 29. Agenda items included a visit from the Todd County auditor, Mr. Joyce Rosenow, reorganization of the consolidated board and budget approval. Rosenow said, “I have received the official notification today. Eagle Valley is now know as District 2759.” He explained his office’s role in the forthcoming election of a new seven person board to represent the district.

Roberta “Bobbi” Freudenrich is the new director of nursing services at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa effective July 1. She has been employed at the care center for four years and has been charge nurse the last two years. Bobbi and her husband Rick live in Browerville with three step-children, Scott, Brandon and Kari.

July 2, 1970
Two Clarissa girls and their two companions escaped serious injury when their car went out of control on loose gravel near Arco, Idaho on Sunday morning. They were Nancy Eilers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Eilers; Carmen Carrick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Carrick; Mary Marjama of Menahga and Linda Jenson of Thief River Falls. They were enroute to Washington to visit the home of Linda’s grandfather when the accident occurred. The girls have been traveling for the summer and had just toured the Mormon Temple in Utah.

George F. Etzell suffered a cerebral incident on Thursday evening, June 18, while attending the Republican State Convention in St. Paul. After two days in a St. Paul hospital he was moved to the Methodist Hospital in Rochester. He was released on Monday afternoon. He will continue therapy at the Mayo Clinic for at least another week.
