25 Years Ago

February 22, 1995

Chad Piepho went for the slam dunk that was the tie breaking shot that brought the seniors a big win in the Donkey Basketball game. Bob Crosby’s Donkey Basketball pitted the seniors against the faculty and the farmers against the businessmen. The seniors ended up facing the farmers in the final round. The event was a fundraiser for the senior class trip, so the seniors were big winners all the way around.

Missy Meyer and Jackie Schnettler asked some pointed questions about writing as children’s author and illustrator Nancy Carlson autographed books at the Eagle Valley Elementary School.


50 Years Ago

February 19, 1970

Clarissa Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, parents and scouting officials will gather at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church parlors next Sunday for the traditional Blue and Gold Banquet. This year, the banquet will be an extra special event, as the scout organization in Clarissa will pay tribute to one of the community’s most dedicated scouters of the past—Mr. Schopf; and Mrs. Schopf, who was at one time a Camp Fire Girls leader.

The Clarissa chapter of the National Honor Society will hold its induction ceremonies on February 25 at the high school auditorium. The following are present members of the honor society: Lyle Aspengren, Mike Baker, Laurie Behrends, Sandra Cline, Debbie Gilbertson and Nancy Kuehne.
