In Focus

Time is just passing by so quickly. So much so, that I’ve had no time to work on the light show.

I’ve been quite busy lately between work and yard and house projects that I have not had any time to even look at setting up the light show for the Fourth of July.

And now that it’s less than two weeks away, there is just no way to get everything set up and put together. So I guess we will just be taking a break from it this year.

Also, along with the storms and the heat, I am a little concerned about the weather damaging items. Plus, at the rate the grass is growing, it will be a bit easier to keep it mowed without having to move everything out of the yard and put it back. Although I love doing this, I also know this show is not the biggest draw as it doesn’t get dark until 10 p.m. throughout the summer months.

And yes, it will be nice to take a little break and just enjoy the yard as is with the solar lights.

I have some new ideas for props I’d like to make for next year so I’m just going to look forward to that.

It will also give me more time to focus on the Halloween and Christmas shows. Apparently, I have a thing for changing up the layout and adding new songs. Plus, with garage sale season, who knows what new items may pop up along the way so I will have to incorporate them!

Even though the Fourth of July show isn’t happening, there are still plenty of solar lights in the yard that look pretty cool. I purchased some that change colors and I’m adding some new ones to the backyard as well. My neighbor has some really cool lights in her yard too that she can control from her cell phone. So, it’s pretty colorful with all the lights.

Also in the backyard...the garden...we just can’t wait for the plants to start growing...
