One year after the gym collapse... A Tiger is rising from the ashes

It started like a bad April Fool’s joke. “Hey, did you hear that the gym in Browerville collapsed?”

“Yeah right.”

“No really. It’s true.”

While it was hard to believe, it was, in fact, true—the Browerville High School gymnasium was not much more than a pile of rubble and ashes after snow and ice melting and refreezing repeatedly caused the partial collapse of the gymnasium roof.

People in the district were met with this instant alert:

“This is Superintendent Vedbraaten. On Saturday, April 1, district leaders learned that the high school gym roof partially collapsed.

“The gym was secured, and structural engineers were brought in to assess the structure....
