Ken Nelson and Neola Jasmer, administrators of the Bernice Lundgren Estate, presented the Eagle Bend Senior Citizens Center with a check for $42,727. Those from the center accepting the donation were Lorraine Bruun, director; Gladys Dettinger; Ira Simar, president; Evelyn Cossentine, treasurer; Ethel Pooler, secretary; and Renold Aldrich, vice president.
The Eagle Bend City Council has agreed to accept a $5000 donation from the fire department and will likely use the money, as recommended by the fire department, toward the purchase of a new riding lawnmower, which they will buy locally. The council will likely have to match the donation to purchase the needed mower. The deal will be handled in the 1996 budget.
