September 13, 1995
He started bull riding in the summer of 1992. Even getting hit in the head in 1993 by a bull’s horn didn’t stop him. He donned a helmet and kept on riding. Danny Smith, his wife, and son moved to rural Eagle Bend because they wanted to buy a farm. Danny also is a lending officer for Country Home Mortgage. He’s originally from Colorado where last year he competed in over 77 rodeos and qualified for the world finals in El Paso, Texas.

Todd County 4-H’ers excelled at the 1995 Minnesota State Fair, receiving a total of 12 purple ribbons, 33 blue, 11 reds, plus additional participation ribbons. These placings reflect the high quality of exhibits the 4-H’ers showcased at this year’s State Fair. DeeAnn Durheim of rural Eagle Bend received reserved champion with her ewe.

September 10, 1970
The Tuberculin testing program will be held in the Eagle Bend School on Wednesday, September 16. Since the Minnesota Respiratory Health Association no longer assumes the cost of tuberculin testing, Dr. E.H. Smith has donated his time to assist Mrs. Martha Whitford, school nurse, with this program.

An open house will be held at the United Methodist Church of Eagle Bend on Sunday, September 20, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Benner on their 50th wedding anniversary. Hosts of the event are the couple’s children and they invite friends and relatives to call between the hours of 2 and 5 p.m.
