News from Eagle Bend's Past

25 Years Ago

November 8, 1995

Last Tuesday, the Eagle Valley Rebels played in the Sub-section 22A Championship match against the Underwood Rockets. It was a hard-fought match. Unfortunately, the Rockets outlasted the Rebels, in a five-game match. Individual scores were: 15-8, 10-15, 13-15, 16-14 and 15-8.

Three local students participated in the Safe Tractor Driving Contest held at the Todd County Fair. Cory Berg again won first place in the FFA Division, David Holmquist placed second in the 4-H Division and Scott Rowe placed third in the FFA Division. Students had to drive and back a tractor and tillage implement through an obstacle course.


50 Years Ago

November 5, 1970

The junior class of the Eagle Bend High School will present a comedy in three acts on Tuesday evening of next week, November 10. The play “No More Homework” will begin at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Admission will be $1 for reserved seats, $.75 for adults and $.50 for students.

The high school students of the Eagle Bend High School held a mock election on Tuesday, November 3, the day of the general election. In comparing the mock election winners to the actual ballot winners, Mr. Michael Roers, advisor of the election held at school, pointed out that it was very interesting to note the students’ choices: Humphrey, Bergland, Wendall Anderson, Perpitch, D. Donovan, Hatfield, Boche, Forsythe, R.L. Anderson, Myrton O. Wegener, Jon Haaven, Ron Everson and Kenneth Gothman.
