Shooting victim identified
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the person who died during a shooting incident on September 12 in Long Prairie. Antonio Francis Rodriguez Fortes, 33, of Perham, died early Sunday morning. The medical examiner says Rodriguez Fortes died of homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds. Two other individuals who were shot and injured during the incident remain hospitalized.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Long Prairie Police Department at 320-732-2156 or the Todd County Sheriff’s Office at 320-732-2158.
On September 12 at approximately 3:29 a.m., the Todd County Sheriff's Office received a report of gun shots in the 500 block of 2nd Ave. SE in the city of Long Prairie. Upon arrival, law enforcement located a deceased male victim in the yard of the residence. Another male victim was transported by CentraCare Ambulance to the Long Prairie Hospital and was later airlifted to the St. Cloud Hospital. The deceased was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office for a positive identification and autopsy. The Long Prairie Police Department is being assisted in the investigation by the Todd Count Sheriff's Office and the MN BCA. This is an active ongoing investigation. The Long Prairie Police will release updates when available.
