Solar power comes to the Verndale School

The Verndale School now has solar power with 148 panels installed on the roof of the new gym.
This was made possible through a grant awarded to the school in 2022. The grant which consisted of $114,000 was used toward the purchase and installation of the solar photovoltaic system.
On October 17, the crew arrived with a crane to hoist supplies up to the roof.
Installation was scheduled for November 3, with no school scheduled that day as the power would be out. The 59.2 kilowatt (kW) DC solar system was installed....
