Vehicle versus motorcycle
On Wednesday, August 25, at approximately 6:20 p.m., the Wadena County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the intersection of Highway 71/County Road 9 for an accident involving a motorcyclist that was run over by a vehicle.
Law enforcement and first responders arrived on the scene to find the driver of the motorcycle, identified as Orren Lien, 49, of Wadena, was turning west onto County Road 9 when he was struck from behind by a pickup that was being driven by Faith Paurus, 45, of Osage.
Paurus stated she was looking to the west prior to the intersection and looked back at the road in time to see the motorcyclist signaling, but she couldn’t stop in time.
Lien suffered a cut below his right knee with minor scrapes and abrasions. He was transported to Tri-County Hospital by a private party.
Neither Paurus nor her passengers were injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Sebeka First Responders.
