The Verndale City Council held their regular meeting on August 10.
Gas Station Update
Austin Rife gave an update on the gas station. They are in the process of closing with the bank and waiting on soil test results to move forward. Pumps are on order. If everything stays on track they are looking at an October 3 opening.
They are looking for $20,000 in gap funding and asked the council if that is something they offer? They city goes through the EDA, Economic Development Alliance, and can set up a meeting with them.
The car wash won’t be operational until next spring.
Request for Off-Sale License
Brian Haugen wanted information about off-sale liquor.
Melissa Current discussed the ordinances and laws regarding off-sale licenses. Due to the size of the town, they are only able to have one off-sale liquor store per 5000 residents. . . .
