Verndale School Board: Plans are being made for back to school
by Trinity Gruenberg
The Verndale School Board held their regular meeting on August 10.
The board discussed the plan draft for back to school following the formula for COVID-19 case rates per 10,000 people in both Wadena and Todd counties.
The Verndale School is working with Wadena County Public Health, Tri-County Health Care and area school superintendents to determine a plan for back to school.
The current metrics would allow the school to have in-person classes.
The school received 440 responses to their survey asking students and parents what model they would choose for school. There were 60 that wished to have distance learning and trending close to 20 for homeschooling.
Superintendent Paul Brownlow spoke with the families considering homeschooling. Parents didnāt have an issue with the school district, they were concerned that there are just too many unknowns this coming school year. Masks were another issue. . . .
