Wadena County 4-H’ers are allowed to show animals
by Trinity Gruenberg
The Wadena County 4-H clubs received the okay to have a live animal showing on August 8 at the Wadena County Fairgrounds, but it will not be open to the public.
Kim Dailey, University of Minnesota Extension educator and 4-H youth development, explained they held a meeting on July 1 to nail down the details and get the approval to make the showing possible in one day. Each county educator had to meet with Becky Harrington, Director of Operations, to discuss suggestions and protocols that they will follow and have them approved in writing.
“Just the feeling I got from the meeting was one of camaraderie and come togetherness,” said Dailey.
Kylene Lehmann, leader of the Four Corners 4-H Club and fairboard member, explained that trailers have to be parked 25 feet away from one another and paperwork and identification will be taken care of beforehand. . . .
