Wadena County Commissioners: Emergency declared in county for 30 days

                The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on March 17. Commissioners Bill Stearns and Jim Hofer attended via phone.

Emergency Declaration for Wadena County

                Emergency Management Director Tyler Wheeler and Sergeant Brian Savaloja brought forward an emergency declaration due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

                The declaration in the county is for 30 days for preparation. The state declared an emergency and the county is following suit. If there’s grant funding down the road, they can use it to be reimbursed.

                Joel Beiswenger, president and CEO of Tri-County Health Care (TCHC), asked if this declaration would mobilize the emergency operation center (EOC). Savaloja said that would be a separate action. . . . .
