Three local newspapers placed bids to be the Official Newspaper for 2023 for printing county legals, public notices and financial statements: the Review Messenger, Wadena Pioneer Journal and the Verndale Sun.

The Verndale Sun came in as the lowest bidder, the second lowest was the Wadena Pioneer Journal.

Auditor/Treasurer Heather Olson noted they don’t typically run a second legal as the legal and financial are the same paper.

Olson recommended the Verndale Sun as they were the lowest bidder. . .
