Westrum new director of Wadena County Human Services
by Trinity Gruenberg
Wadena County Human Services Director Jennifer Westrum has been on the job since the end of April, transitioning into her new role.
Westrum is a Wadena native, graduating from Wadena-Deer Creek (WDC) in 1989. Her husband, Lee, has been the school’s superintendent the
past seven years. They have two daughters: Abby, 19, and Allison, 14.
After high school, Westrum received her undergrad at Concordia, Moorhead and her master’s degree in psychology at St. Cloud State University and became a licensed psychologist.
She was hired in Benson to start an in-home family therapy program. The purpose was to help families who either have lost custody of their children, or on the verge, to reunify their family. And that was created in connection with Swift County Human Services. . . .
