Snow and cold disrupt the area once again

Winter continued with more snow, measuring 6-9 inches in areas, that began Wednesday night February 6. The snow continued through Thursday with blizzard conditions, reducing visibility. Drifting snow prompted several road closures across the state and travel advisories were issued due to whiteout conditions. Area schools were either closed for the day or were released after lunch. Thursday night and Friday brought sub-zero temps once again, around -13 degrees with windchill warnings showing temps of -33 degrees or lower. Above, a snowplow and a semi created dangerous driving conditions with the light snow blowing around.
