Statema seriously injured in rollover accident
According to the Todd County Sheriff’s Department, on Wednesday, November 8, at 9:09 p.m., the TCSO responded to a one vehicle rollover on County Road 18, just east of 277th Avenue.
John Statema of rural Browerville was traveling eastbound on County Road 18 when he lost control of his 2001 Ford pick-up causing the vehicle to enter the ditch and roll.
Statema was seriously injured as a result of the crash. His family shared that he suffered a fractured pelvis, broken left arm, four broken ribs, a punctured lung, a torn spleen and had lots of road rash.
He was transported to the Staples Hospital by the Browerville Ambulance and was transferred to the Children’s Hospital in St. Cloud. The Browerville Fire Department and Staples Ambulance assisted in the incident.
Poor road conditions are believed to be a factor in the crash.
