Bertha 5th grader wins drawing contest

    Kiahna Truman, 10, of rural Bertha loves to draw. Her artistic abilities were recognized as she won a drawing competition which included 8500 other entries.    

    The Detroit Lakes Shrine Color Guard held their 23rd annual contest for the region that stretches across Detroit Lakes, Wadena, Nevis, Mahnomen, Lake Park and Pelican Rapids. 

    The Shriners sent posters to kindergarten through sixth grade students asking them to draw something circus related. Two winners were selected from each grade, one being the grand prize winner whose drawing was going to be featured in their coloring book. . . .
