Before the regular July city council meeting, a public hearing was held regarding a five-year MIF loan received through the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) for Verndale Custom Builders (VCB) in which they were to employ a required number of employees that was originally included as criteria for the loan. The company had estimated that they would have 14 employees, but they currently employ nine.
