The GroShed arrived at the Verndale School on March 16. Students learned how the stand-alone, thermal shed can grow vegetables hydroponically year around.

Hanna Milligan, ag teacher, was looking for a creative way to expand their greenhouse space. With the property being landlocked, constructing a building wasn’t an option.

A greenhouse can be used as a small business and it gives students a business-type experience in growing food for more than just the ag students themselves.

Jordan Herman, with Sourcewell, works as a career consultant with the Verndale School . . .
