News from Eagle Bend's Past 25 Years Ago January 31, 2001 The women of Faith Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church of Eagle Bend made a joint effort to make mission quilts. The material was purchased with money donated from the Lutheran Brotherhood. The quilts are sent to foreign missions, fire victims and home missions. Benning Printing and Publishing Celebrates 25 Years
Ray and Marlo Benning are celebrating 25 years as the owners of the Independent News Herald. They purchased the newspaper from Ernie and Diane Silbernagel, taking over the business on June 1, 2000. The Silbernagels had owned the Eagle Bend News and Bertha Herald since 1979 and combined these papers with the Clarissa Independent in 1992, creating the Independent News Herald.
