Elfstrum hit three second-half three-pointers to keep the game within reach, but the Pirates were unable to get key defensive stops. The Eagles’ size and strength outmatched the Pirates. by Coach Heidi Brandsma On Tuesday, October 14, the Verndale Pirates cross-country team competed at the Park Region Conference meet, hosted by Otter Tail Central and held at Balmoral Golf Course.  We were greeted with cold, rainy conditions, but overall, the Pirates rose to the occasion and ran well.
