The top six individuals and top three relay teams in each event automatically advanced to the Section Meet, along with the next four best individual performances and the next two fastest relay times overall between the two sub-sections. The Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale boys track and field team turned in several strong performances at the MSHSL Section 6A East Sub-Section meet held Thursday, May 21, at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Secondary School. Senior Brady Rach led the Raiders with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run, clocking a season-best 1:56.39 to qualify for the next round. Gunnar Barthel also qualified in the event with a personal-best time of 2:06.79, while Jakub Stovicek added a personal-best 2:11.8
