Purpose...

Have you ever wondered what your purpose is? Yes, me, too!

I know it may seem odd that at nearly 60 I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.

So, being the type of person that I am, I decided to listen to the Late Jim Rohn for some inspiration.

In one of the many talks I have listened to by Rohn over the past few weeks, one of his talks happened to be on “What is your purpose?”

Of course, I listened intently.

Rohn talked about a lot of things, but the thing that hit me was when he said something about “looking at what you enjoyed doing as a kid.”

Well, there were two things I enjoyed doing when I was a kid...

1. Writing (no surprise there).

2. Exploring and going on adventures.

Okay...

Yes...

Immediately, I was mentally teleported to life as a young girl growing up in Central Minnesota on a farm. But that wasn’t where I was in my adventures. I was a famous astronaut exploring planet xyz... I was a hero saving the whole city... I was a doctor... a police officer... a firefighter... I was so many things.

My trusty bicycle was a valiant steed who could outrun all the other horses in the race. I always arrived at the “scene” first!

I built a spaceship out of an old wooden manure spreader and traveled the solar system and beyond!

I went places that don’t exist on any map or anywhere in anyone else’s imagination.

Why did I stop doing that? Because I was told I needed to go to college and then get a job and give up those childish dreams.

But I started to think about the people I know that never gave up their childhood dreams. They seem so happy and free.

So adventure awaits, even if it is only in my imagination... If you see me out walking around and talking to myself, just realize I am probably interacting with an alien from planet xyz and it is all good!
