Miller wins first 5K

Kendra Miller won her first Varsity 5K race last Thursday at the Pine River Backus Invite. Her time of 21:38.60 was 26 seconds faster than Emma Reeder of Pillager. She also set the new school record that was held by Hailey Hudalla and was set in 2020. Kendra and Emma ran together the first 3700 meters and then Kendra began to pull away.

“It was a fun race to watch,” commented Coach Hanson. “The course has a trail winding through a school forest and when Kendra came out, she had a commanding lead. She finished strong and ran a great race.”

The JH girls team also had a good showing with Aulani Johnson placing 2nd, Aisllinn Brown finishing 5th, Eva Blashack 9th and Lydia Brown 13th. . .
