Bertha-Hewitt Students Trace American History on Unforgettable East Coast Tour

A group of Bertha-Hewitt High School students (Eva Blashack, Brady Rach and Megan Walz) exchanged their textbooks for real-world history lessons this spring as they joined Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City (ACGC) students on an eight-day East Coast tour led by Social Studies Teacher Noah Singsank.
The trip, which took place at the end of March, included visits to Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., creating memorable experiences despite transportation delays.
Massachusetts
The tour began in Boston. Brady Rach described a busy first day that included lunch on Boston Common, a visit to the Massachusetts State House, a walk along the Freedom Trail, and stops at the Old North Church, the site of the Boston Massacre, and Sam Adams’ grave. The group also visited the Boston Holocaust Memorial before ending the day with pizza.
On the second day in Massachusetts, the group traveled to Lexington and Concord, standing on the North Bridge where colonial militia famously confronted British troops. They also visited the Concord burial ground, ate lunch at Harvard University, toured the USS Constitution, stopped by the JFK Presidential Library, toured Fenway Park, and capped off the day with supper at Quincy Market while catching the Timberwolves vs. Celtics game...
