BHVPP Grapplers Have Some Fun at Home Invitational; Grewe Named Wrestler of the Weekend

The BHVPP girls wrestling team put on a spectacular performance this past Saturday at the BHVPP Girls Invitational, fueled by a passionate home crowd and several standout individual performances. The Raiders secured multiple podium finishes, highlighted by three individual titles and a significant career milestone.
Grewe Sets the Mat on Fire Kristin Grewe (106) was named the “Wrestler of the Weekend” by the coaching BHVPP coaching staff after a dominant 3-0 performance in the Junior Varsity division. Grewe remained on the attack all day, utilizing takedowns and relentless top-position pressure to secure three consecutive falls over opponents from WCAA, STMO, and LBW. Her “fiery spirit” and positive attitude were credited with giving the Raider fans plenty to cheer about throughout the tournament.
Raiders Claim Three Individual Titles. Joining Grewe at the top of the podium were Elora Wagner and Autumn Becker, who both finished the day undefeated.
Elora Wagner (148): Wagner moved to 31-2 on the season with a perfect 4-0 run to take 1st place in the Varsity division. Coaches highlighted her aggressive neutral position work, including a fluid three-transition attack—Iowa snap to double leg to hip toss—that ended her final match by fall.
Autumn Becker (118): Competing in the Junior Varsity bracket, Becker went 3-0 with three consecutive falls. Her relentless top position forced opponents into a defensive shell, allowing her to control hands and secure pins against MLR, SPEC, and STMO.
Milestone for Black Sophomore Chloe Black (136) celebrated a major career achievement, picking up her 25th career pin milestone during the tournament. Black finished 5th overall with a 2-2 record, capping her day with a technical victory where she suckered her opponent into a headlock before rolling through for a takedown and a fall...
