Busy Fall for Verndale Students

The Verndale School Board held their regular meeting on Monday, November 3.
Administrative Reports
Principal Katie Bolland reported that October was a busy month with various student activities, including a visit from a motivational speaker, a Halloween parade, and an outdoor STEM class field trip to Ely. Computer science will take a field trip to CLC this month. She outlined upcoming events such as FFA judging competitions, honor society induction and an upcoming blood drive, Veterans Day program, and teacher conferences.
Bolland mentioned that families scheduled their meetings for K–4 conferences. The 5-12 remain open-house style. She also shared an update on planned professional development and training for staff. She highlighted ongoing grade-level data meetings for elementary teachers and noted the completion of her first round of formal teacher observations.
Bolland is preparing for instructional rounds and will be on a panel discussion for administrators with future educators.
Superintendent Jeannie Mayer reported that financial statements and food service balances were updated through September, with further reports and budget revisions scheduled for the next board meeting.
