Career Fair is Back—Bigger and Better

The Verndale School Board held their regular meeting on April 6.

Career Fair Returns

The PLC group comprised of Heather Lehmkuhl and Katie Tackman, K-12 School Counselor; Hanna Milligan, 7-12 Agriculture Teacher and Work Based Learning Coordinator; and Dr. Dan Stelck, High School Science, detailed an expanded and more interactive career fair planned for students in grades 7–12.

The event will be held on April 23, in the new gym and adjacent areas, replacing last year’s speaker-heavy format with hands-on activities designed to expose students to a wide range of careers and postsecondary options.

Juniors and seniors will participate in a financial simulation that assigns each student a career and household scenario and requires them to manage real-world expenses and unexpected events. While older students rotate through that simulation, younger grades will begin visiting the fair booths before all grades come together later in the day...
