Community Clothes Closet Launched to Support Local Needs

Debby Abrahamson, president of Zion Lutheran Church, explained there is no criteria, anyone can stop by and shop at the Community Clothes Closet.

Zion Lutheran Church in Browerville has accumulated a large selection of items for their Community Clothes Closet which is located at 1021 N. Park Avenue in Browerville.

They have been open to the public for a short while and have not yet seen a lot of people coming through the doors, maybe six to ten per week.

“But,” shared Debby Abrahamson, president of the church, “those people are leaving with bags of quality clothing. And that’s good because we need to make room.”

While thinking of ideas on how to get more involved with the community, Abrahamson, with the help of many volunteers, especially Sharon Johnson and Debbie Mortensen, realized they had clothing at home to go through and pass along.

They were further inspired by Julie Leikvoll at Labor of Love, a nonprofit thrift store in Little Falls, who was the first to donate a large amount of clothing along with a variety of racks for display...
