Wadena County has a new engineer but he isn’t new to the county. Assistant County Engineer Darin Fellbaum has stepped into the lead engineer role.

At the request of Ryan Odden, who was working as both the county engineer and county coordinator, the position was split and he continues as the county coordinator. That left the county engineer position open which Fellbaum filled on October 19.

He has been with the county since 2018 when he was hired as the assistant county engineer.

“Becoming the county engineer was a goal of mine,” noted Fellbaum.

The Swanville native was raised on a small dairy and hog farm and attended high school in Little Falls where he graduated in 2012. . .
