Double Eagle Golf and Grill Marks New Chapter as Longtime Owners Sell to Local Couple

After 16 years of owning and running Double Eagle Golf & Grill, Dave and Theresa Lisson are handing over the keys to a new generation.

The 9‑hole reversible course and full‑service restaurant just outside of Eagle Bend has been sold to Justin and Amber Wagner, a local couple who hopes to build on what the Lissons started while keeping the family‑friendly, small‑town character that has defined the business.

The transition comes as the Lissons prepare to retire—the decision to sell has been a long time coming.

They spoke about wanting to be more present for their grandchildren and to spend more time at home—and simply to be there, together, for a full spring, summer and fall for the first time in many years.

“We haven’t really spent spring, summer, fall [at home] for like…well, not just being here, but, you know,” Teresa said. “I can’t wait to have flowers…a new little garden.”

The Lissons took over Double Eagle in 2010. At the time, both were still working demanding jobs elsewhere while trying to build the golf course business.

Theresa worked 40 to 60 hours a week at Larson Boats in Little Falls for more than two decades, spending her evenings at the golf course.

Dave, meanwhile, worked construction before deciding to focus on the course full time.

“When I became full time here, that’s when we really started growing,” Teresa noted. “We were both here all the time..."
