Eight fire departments respond to Minnesota Valley Irrigation fire

On Monday, May 30, at 2:55 p.m., the Wadena Fire Department was dispatched to a warehouse shop fire at 602 Ash Avenue NE, within the city of Wadena. The building was being occupied by Minnesota Valley Irrigation, a company owned by R.D. Offutt Company Inc. At the time of the fire the building was being used for storage of equipment.
Upon arrival, fire personnel observed a large blaze with heavy fire on the south side of the building. The fire was traveling at a rapid rate. Inside the building, there were several pieces of machinery, irrigation computer system controllers, various irrigation equipment, and potato spraying chemicals. . .
