Farewell to Co-Pastor Del Moen

Del Moen, co-pastor of the Highway 71 Lutherans, has retired from the four parishes.
The Highway 71 Lutherans is comprised of Zion Lutheran in Browerville, Calvary Lutheran in Little Sauk, Shepherd of the Valley in Clarissa, and Faith Lutheran in Eagle Bend. They all joined forces in the fall of 2017 under Pastors Allen Mortenson and Del Moen.
Moen has been a pastor for rural churches for the past 38 years.
“I’ve been at it for 38 years, and I’m tired,” shared Moen.
The ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) is working with the Highway 71 Lutherans to find another pastor. The ELCA covers 300 churches, and it is increasingly difficult to find new pastors as many are retiring....
