Fatal accident
On September 12, at 8:46 a.m., a 2016 Hyundai Tuscon driven by Lashel Dawn Oliver, 55, of Burtrum, was traveling eastbound on Highway 27 when it collided with an eastbound 2003 Kenworth tractor truck, operated by Tyler Lawrence Scherping, 20, of Freeport. The crash occurred near County Road 219 in Bruce Township.
Oliver was killed in the crash. Scherping was uninjured.
Assisting at the scene were the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, Swanville Fire/Rescue and the Long Prairie Rescue.
