Four Rescued after Paddle Boat Capsizes on Eagle Lake

Four people were rescued on Friday evening after a paddle boat capsized on Eagle Lake southwest of Frazee, according to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office received a report at approximately 7:37 p.m. of a boat capsizing with three people in the water. When deputies arrived, they found a paddle boat equipped with a trolling motor overturned. One person had already reached shore, while three others were clinging to the overturned boat.

A deputy sergeant wearing a personal flotation device swam out to the boat and brought a 70-year-old woman to shore. She was wearing a PFD but was unresponsive when she reached shore.

Four private citizens who were boating nearby also assisted with the rescue. Two of the citizens, along with the deputy sergeant and Frazee Fire Chief, went to help the two remaining people in the water and brought them safely to shore...
