Russell Martinson, superintendent of schools at Eagle Valley: Eagle Bend and Clarissa, looked toward June 12 with mixed emotions. It was Martinson’s last official contract date with the districts, with the exception of some consolidation services and the consolidation presentations. Martinson will be leaving the school districts to become executive director of the Freshwater Education District, headquartered in Staples.

Glenda Supper has started working as a postal clerk at the Clarissa Post Office. Her duties include part-time morning hours. Glenda is married to Frank Supper and they have four children.

June 18, 1970
Two members of the Clarissa School Patrol are taking extensive training this week at school patrol classes at Legionville. They are Pat Lunemann and Mark Teigland, co-captains for the coming year at the Clarissa School. Mrs. Joyce Kent is in charge of the patrol for the elementary grades.

Sandi Christianson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Fahrenholz, will leave next Sunday for Washington, D. C., and then on to Shenandoah Conservatory of Music at Winchester, Virginia, as a prelude to a month’s concert tour.
