Henry the spook brings Halloween fun!
by Trinity Gruenberg
This Halloween season, a friendly spook has been traveling around the area and hanging out in different locations for days before moving on to the next.
Henry, the ghost-faced spook, recently visited the Hewitt Holiday House and Shear Attraction in Verndale.
At the Hewitt Holiday House, Henry received a front-row seat for the Halloween light show and was given popcorn and a beverage.
At Shear Attraction, Henry was given a Halloween makeover which included green and purple tinsel hair extensions.
Henry’s creators, Rick and Cindy Kasperson of rural Verndale, made the spook last year for their grandchildren. They purchased the mask, used an old pair of jeans and a sweatshirt, and stuffed it full of old sheets and pillowcases.
Their daughter Shannon Ostlund named Henry, and Rick started putting him in random places around the home.
Henry hung out in their side-by-side, greeted mail carriers at their mailbox, and relaxed in a recliner in the ditch.
Rick also snuck Henry into Shannon’s home, which scared granddaughter Payten.
Henry was brought out this year for the holiday, and Rick’s daughters, Shannon and Shay Walz, urged him to move Henry around in the local communities....
