Invited into the Hornets’ nest

by Coach Robert Schueller

Browerville/Eagle Valley - 71, Henning - 77

The Henning Hornets invited the Browerville/Eagle Valley Tigers into their nest to open the basketball season last Thursday. Both teams put together an impressive start to their respective seasons.

The first half had four lead changes and four ties. Each team also went through stretches of three minutes or more without scoring. When the two teams were scoring, they put up points in a hurry. Henning’s largest lead of the half was 13 to 7. The Tigers’ largest lead was 30 to 24.

Browerville/Eagle Valley also received good minutes from its bench with a couple of starters dealing with foul trouble. Kayden Tabatt and Ryan Riedel each hit shots from three-point range while Blake Irsfeld pulled in 2 rebounds and dished out two assists. Bobby Solid also came in to play some good defense and brought in two rebounds. . .
