Kids are already using new sidewalks in town

The Verndale City Council held their regular meeting on Monday, June 9.
Sidewalk Construction
If the weather holds, Ryan Odden with Moore Engineering says concreting should be done by the end of the week or the beginning of next week. Then, the topsoil will be replaced, reshaped, and seeded with hydro-mulch by the end of next week. Some areas will be regraded, and some residents will have new driveways put in.
Odden discussed tree removal. A resident asked if his shade trees being removed would be replaced. Not everyone wanted them replaced and they discussed paying cash or purchasing a replacement tree. Approved to replace the physical tree up to $150. Nick Scholer and Brad Cottrell opposed it. Odden will leave a list of the property owners of the trees that had to be removed.
The concrete approaches will get asphalt bumpouts. The $215,576 contractor payment was approved. Construction should be done by the next meeting. Kids are already using the sidewalks. The payment for Moore Engineering was approved for $17,964....
