The city of Hewitt will have two bars in January if everything gets approved for the re-opening of the Hewitt Bar. Darlene Boman from Eagle Bend is working on getting the bar operating again. She plans to leave the name as Hewitt Bar for the time being. She is working toward getting the approval from Todd County and work done to operate the kitchen/restaurant portion of the bar also.

Domian-Anderson Funeral Home will be having an open house for their new chapel in Bertha on December 17 from 1-3 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

December 14, 1950
Pastors of the Bertha community have unanimously backed a “Community Fellowship of Prayer” as the way to aid in establishing world peace. Pastors of this community are Rev. R.W. Davis, Rev. A.J. Kretzchmar, Rev. G.E. Hartz, Rev. E.H. Warbler, Rev. Lee E. Brandl and Rev. W.F. Ratzlaff.

The Bertha community is heading into a busy pre-Christmas week. They start with Santa Claus visiting on Saturday. On Sunday, the annual school concert of sacred music will be held at the school. Most church programs will be held Christmas Eve.
