The new chapel at the Bertha-Domian-Anderson Funeral Home was dedicated to the memory of George Domian and “Swede” Anderson. Pictured by the dedication plaque were Joe Schuller, Rhonda Amundson, Nora Anderson, Jon Johns and Jerry Anderson.

During the latter part of the regular meeting of the Bertha City Council on Monday, December 11, new Mayor Gary Kleen and new Council Member Brad Rach took their oaths of office. Also renewing his oath of office was current Council Member Ken Ashbaugh.

December 21, 1950
Is Santa’s face ever red! Redder than usual, we mean. The kind old gent was very embarrassed and exceedingly sorry on Saturday when he ran out of bags of goodies for the kiddies who had come to Bertha to see him. He knows a lot of kiddies were disappointed in not getting treats too, while he can’t be here himself, he is arranging to have more bags of goodies to give out next Saturday afternoon to those kids. The treats will be at the Bertha Drug Store.

The “Tide of Toys” drive to gather toys to ship to needy children abroad will get underway immediately after Christmas Day, Earl Liebold, Commander of the American Legion, announced. The local post along with the auxiliary is sponsoring the drive.
