The Eagle Valley and Bertha-Hewitt Schools are using a new game to help teach their students. The Stock Market Game is an interactive educational tool that can be used in grades 4-12 to teach a variety of subjects including math, social studies, language arts and business. Jan Hierl at Eagle Valley and Mike Bauck at Bertha-Hewitt are the teachers who are working with a carefully designed curriculum. In this portfolio equity competitions, teams invest a hypothetical $100,000 in common stocks over several weeks. Each team of five or fewer receives a portfolio of updates on their current holdings, brokerage fees, interest and team rankings.
