A chance meeting of Sgt. Charles Motzko and Pvt. Herbert Motzko, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Motzko of Browerville, came as a happy surprise as the young men were brought together on May 14 when the different infantry divisions were being broken down and reassembled for further military duty in the vicinity of Hollendorf, Germany. Neither Charles or Herbert were aware of the presence of the other in that territory until they met while on guard duty.

Browerville men called for induction and pre-induction examinations were: Thomas Buhl, Eugene Wrobel, Hermany Goligowski and Glade Fredericks. The local young men left on Wednesday and Thursday of last week for Fort Snelling.
