Cheyenne Nolan-Rapatz of Browerville-Eagle Valley broke the 1600 meter school record repeatedly this year. His best time was at the sectional track meet at North Dakota State University (NDSU) with a time of 4:28:54, just missing the state qualifying time of 4:28:43. He also broke the 800 meter record with a time of 2:03 at both the Wadena and NDSU track meets.

There was a good turnout for the First Annual Browerville Sportsmen’s Club Canoe Races at Browerville Days on Saturday. Winners were: Youth Division: first, Gene Tschida, Jr. and Elijah Haste, 54:54; second place, Todd Wiersgalla and Ben Brown, 57.09. Adult division: first place, Rod Erickson and Brian Geiser, 43:57; second place, Brian Spandl and Mary Mueller, 50:22; third place, Jerry Smith and Bob Engle, 50:55.

According to Nick Truog, county auditor, the following have filed for election for the various county offices up to Tuesday morning—for sheriff: Ralph Kamphaenkel, Warren Galvin, Jos. H. Wolters; judge of probate: Gust Scharf, A.V. Arnold; county treasurer: George Lehner, Oscar Lowe; and county attorney: Frank L. King.

Last Sunday, after the dust cleared away, the local fans saw Browerville come out with a 12-6 win over Clarissa. Ed Zins led the hitting department with 1 double and 2 singles in 5 official trips. Jack Frank was credited with his first win of the 1950 season. Next Sunday, the boys travel to Clarissa to play a return game. This game wills start the second half of the season.
