July 12, 2001

Wade Johnson thinks that if he had gotten a chance to address neighbors’ concerns about his business expansion plans, they may have supported his bid for a conditional use permit to add slaughtering to his meat market business. But Johnson said the neighbors and officials at the zoning meeting didn’t listen to him. And, he said, two or three phone calls to County Commissioner Gary Feist to discuss the issue went unanswered and were not returned. Johnson wants to add a kill operation to his meat processing business which is located outside of Browerville on agricultural zoned land.
